Asylum Seekers are handed deeper discrimination

Asylum seekers are facing deeper discrimination when it comes to trying to get into the United States.

Seekers who are part of the LGBTQ community or are disabled are going through a lot of abuse, violence, and harassment.

Julián Castro is a Democratic presidential candidate. Once he heard about what was happening to the asylum seekers, he personally went to the Mexican border on Monday to ask Customs and Border Protection to reprocess the cases of 12 seekers and be allowed into the country.

He was successful with getting them across the border for just a few hours until they were sent back to the border.

Currently, there is a high record number of border crossings at one million immigrants. So, the Trump administration is continuing to make it more difficult to seek asylum to limit the number coming into the United States.
